A native of Los Angeles, Allen attended a different high school each of his four years of school, finishing at Vintage High School in Napa, Calif. He lettered in football as a freshman at Centennial Senior High in Compton, Calif. Allen has participated in the offensive line's support of The RISE School in Dallas with the "First Downs for Down SyndromeÓ project. In the fall of 2001, the entire offensive line helped paint a Dallas Cowboys Pegasus with the children from The RISE School. The Pegasus, a project to promote the City of Dallas, was donated to the school for a charitable fundraiser. Larry and wife Janelle have two daughters, Jayla (12/15/94) and Loriana (4/20/00), and a son, Larry, Jr. (7/21/96).
